GRACE MCADAMS
Grace McAdams lives in Lyme, CT. She fell in love with dance at age 4 at the Black Rock Center for the Art, in Germantown, Maryland. With Grace’s father serving in the US Navy, her family relocated multiple times and she had the opportunity to train along with her 6 younger siblings at several ballet schools around the country, including ballet in Poulsbo WA under Sara Milov, with Elizabeth Catlett at Metropolitan Ballet Theater, Rockville MD, and with Suzanne Lownsbury, Janina Michalski and Pat Sorrell at Ballet Virginia in Norfolk VA. She trained for several years in modern dance (Horton) with Lydia Roberts Coco at Ballet Virginia. Grace has performed as corps de ballet in The Nutcracker with each studio, participated in First Pointe Players with Patricia Sorrel, Becoming Sugar Plum and Sleeping Beauty with Elizabeth Catlett, Copelia and Alice in Wonderland with Ballet Virginia, as well as excerpts of George Balanchine's Serenade With Eastern Connecticut Ballet. While in high school, Grace started taking private ballet lessons with Leyna Doran and Stephanie Galiardi at Dance Center of Old Lyme, while taking jazz and tap classes with Bethany Haslam. Grace was instructed by Mary Ann Lamb, Wendy Whelan, and Sara Mearns at Eastern Connecticut Ballet’s summer intensive. She also learned from Daniel Ulbricht and Danielle Diniz at Ballet Hartford’s summer intensive. Most recently, Grace studied a semester of dance education at Central Connecticut State University and performed contemporary with DanceCentral, as well as interned for a semester with Ballet Hartford. She is grateful for the opportunity to train with Ballet Hartford in the upcoming seasons.
